The NSCU Squamish Test of Metal cross-country mountain bike race is many things to many people.

On paper it’s a 67-kilometre course with over 1,200 meters of climbing and 35 kilometers of single-track.

Join us for books, songs and a craft to celebrate Aboriginal Day.  Children aged 3 – 5 with a caregiver.

Comfortably Numb follows a winding 25 km trail through moss covered forest. Elevation gain is mostly in the first half. Majority of the course is undulating trail through forest, with most of the descent and tricky sections near the finish.

This is A fairly flat 7 km run with a combination of pavement and sandy trails, not to mention a couple of fences, just to keep things interesting - what better way to celebrate Canada Day! The 26th annual Whistler Children’s Art Festival returns on July 11 and 12, 2009, with national entertainment and art workshops as Whistler celebrates its designation as a 2009 Cultural Capital of Canada. Whistler Arts Council and Whistler Real Estate Company present the 6th annual ArtWalk running from July 1 to August 31, 2009, featuring Sea-to-Sky Corridor artists in host galleries throughout Whistler Village. The event connects the arts with the tourism and business sector.

The Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake features two to four day workshops from beginner to intermediate level instruction in oil, acrylic and watercolour painting, sketching and life drawing.

A festival of the underground arts featuring electronic music, film, fashion, food and education. The event is held on JULY 24,25,26 2009 and is located 1 hour from Vancouver in the pristine Squamish Valley.

Co-ed tournament, now in its 6th year, is played on the Myrtle Philip Community School lower fields. Two days of flicking, hucking and diving.

Tournament starts 8:30 am Saturday to determine playoff spots, 10 am Sunday for finals.

The Dirt Series women only bike camp is back for another weekend of rough riding and big air. Skills improvement for all levels and a chance to hang with the girls guarantees a great time. Leave the boys in the dust as you race down the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. For more details about the camp, visit the Dirt Series website. Additional camps available in May, June and September.

Barrel racing will have a big presence in the corridor this summer as Mount Currie's Lillooet lake Rodeo Arena prepares to host a summer series of weekend events sanctioned by the British Columbia Barrel Racers Association (BCBRA).

First event is scheduled for this weekend May 9 - 10, with subsequent races to follow on

Whistler Street Entertainment presents free, family-friendly events, attractions and performers every weekend from May through September. Join weaver and workshop instructor Melvin Williams for a three hour workshop where you will learn about the practice of cedar weaving and create your own basket.

Workshop includes a video about harvesting cedar bark and Williams will talk about his weaving background and show samples of his work.
