La Terra Ventures Inc. presents the Xterra Canadian National Championships in Whistler. Racers swim in Alta Lake, doing laps of 750 metres in length with a short beach run between each, then do a mountain bike race on single track and climbs. $15 fee for insurance.

The Whistler Way Commuter Challenge is a two-week, friendly, fun competition among participating businesses and organizations with the goal of reducing single passenger vehicle trips.

The Toonie part of the name change is simple. The rides cost $2 with half of your entry fee will going into WORCA’s trail maintenance fund, and the other half  into a pot for the top riders — usually locals who are training for the nationals or even the World Cup, so they can use every cent they get.

Mountain bikers to navigate mass start through challenging course on Whistler Blackcomb. For a second year, Red Bull 5000 Down hits Whistler Blackcomb with a mass start downhill mountain bike race.
